Well, the first way to do it is rent the resort timeshare directly from the owner. For most timeshares, you can rent them for $80 per night. That's less than the cost of a hotel room and you get more space, a kitchen and other amenities like a Jacuzzi that you dream of having on vacation. Besides renting, the other option is timeshare exchange. If you're not an owner, you'll have to talk your friend or family member into letting you use their timeshare. 2. Join an Exchange club ($250+): There are several but the biggest are RCI and II. There are some other services like Dial an Exchange and Redweek that offer timeshare exchange services. The fees to trade are similar.
Quick Fact: Interval Exchange and Vacation Exchange are both used interchangeably with timeshare exchange since people equate "intervals" with "timeshares" as well as "vacation ownership".
