Bart hunts a Magic Millions bargain Local Gold Coast News,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
FEW people would have looked twice when a motorised golf cart cruised past them at the Magic Millions yearling sale complex at Bundall yesterday.
Fewer would have noticed it stopping at several of the stables as its occupants quietly hopped out and studied a horse or two before driving off to the next stop,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
But those with an eye for detail would have realised the man dressed in a dark blue spray jacket,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], black pants and white running shoes was Australia greatest horse trainer.
Bart Cummings, the winner of 12 Melbourne Cups,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], yesterday went about his business at the Magic Millions.

The 83-year-old ran his eye over several horses,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], looking for a future champion.
And while many would have guessed the master trainer was preparing to spend big at the sales, which start today, Cummings said he had no intention to do anything of the sort.
"I am trying to find a champion horse at a bargain price. It is the only way to buy them,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," he said.
"We haven had a look at all of them yet but there are a couple of nice ones here.
"There are not as many as there usually are, but I have been impressed with what I have seen.
"The wet weather has probably held them back a bit too, in terms of conditioning."
Cummings was not the only Melbourne Cup-winning trainer to tour the sale precinct yesterday.
Mark Kavanagh, who trained Shocking to the Cup in 2009, also studied several horses.
The appearance of the two came a day after Gai Waterhouse,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], winner of last year Caulfield Cup with Descarado,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], also toured the yards with Gold Coast horse owners David and Luke Henderson.
Two colts by champion sire Redoute Choice are each expected to fetch upwards of $1 million when they go under the hammer this week,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Duncan Grimley,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], from Strawberry Hill Stud,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], said there had been a lot of interest in his horse, Lot 564 from Sunday Joy.
"He is probably the best-bred horse in Australia this year," Mr Grimley said.
"He is by Redoute Choice,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who is the champion sire obviously, and he is a half-brother to More Joyous, who is one of John Singleton greatest race mares."
The other colt by Redoute Choice, Lot 30 from mare Bourgeois,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is drawing a similar amount of interest,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], according to Reavill Farm Lisa Soria.
"He is a full-brother to (Golden Slipper winner) Stratum and he is a lovely horse, very much the early type in the same mould as his brother," she said.
