Time for P.C to P.O - and the second word is 'Off'
I can't sit here and relate - sorry, that smacks of incest, doesn't it? - all the PC horrors we find ourselves surrounded by; you'll know them, as well as I. So there (almost) went another English Tradition. Goodbye Tourist interest and probably millions of pounds in profits to Kodak, as people would no longer be able to take photos of the street name. Fortunately, the Council had a [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] second [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] thought and decided to re-evaluate the street naming process. Pity. [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] I quite like the idea of having a street called 'Shiny Round Coin Lane'
Penny Lane, for example. The Beatles immortalised it [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] in song and we all [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] know the tune. Liverpool Council however, in their esteemed wisdom - apologies to Norman - went through a frenzied period of 'goodness' and decided to change the street names that had connections [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] with the Slave Trade. This PC Thought crept up on us overnight, but the irony is that the Council - esteemed though they might think they are - weren't savvy enough to know Penny Lane was one such PC thorn in the buttocks, as it was named after James Penny, a Slave Ship owner, until someone [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] pointed it out to them. Probably a Stones fan.
We are swamped with political correctness. A "spotted dick" is just a dessert, a "blackboard" [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] is an item teachers write on. But people want [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] words like these, and others, banned.
